We are delighted to let you know that we have been fortunate in buying two very important deceased estate collections of stereoviews that have not seen the light of day, possibly for a century, and were not even in the possession of a stereoview collector. Most are in pristine condition, especially the 1850s hand-tinted views. We will therefore be running a Christmas auction this year after a break of five years. Very briefly, there are views by Fenton (including still lifes with stereoviewers), Grundy, Burr, Silvester, Ogle & Edge, T.R. Williams (including Scenes In Our Village), Diableries, Surprise Tissues, Ghosts in the Stereoscope, all four of the Freemason views, Death of Chatterton, National Sports, The Story of a Nose, and many more. Six very fine and almost pristine views from the Furne and Tournier Voyage en Bretagne series including shipping in Brest harbor and rustics in costume, rare Sedgfields including Blowing Bubbles and A Game of Draughts, etc. etc. All info, including an overview with links to each auction, will appear here and will provisionally begin on 24 December and end on Sunday 3 January 2021.
Please
note: All our views are original and we do NOT sell reprints or scans.
If you have any specific wants, or wish to look at further views from a
certain category or country, please email rjn@longcase.co.uk
and we will be pleased to send you further scans.
We
are happy to search for views of a specific town or building and, especially
as regards England, can cover many obscure areas. We are also happy to
put aside odd views for you until you have built up enough to make it worthwhile
to post. Don't miss anything special that you see!!
On
pages with a large number of scans you may find that your PC stops loading
before all the scans are down. If that happens, just hit reload/refresh
and it should pick up where it left off.
If
you buy from us you will be trusting us to send you goods for which you
have already paid. We have been antique dealers since 1974 and are proud
of our reputation. Don't take our word for that. Click
here to access our Ebay feedback and you will be able to view almost
1800 comments from satisfied customers. In 20 years we have never had a
negative feedback.
We
have been asked about our numbering sequence as, sometimes, customers have
noted down an order number and then can't find the view again. The sequence
is complicated and is being constantly enlarged and revised. An up-to-date
sequence can be downloaded by clicking HERE
Finally,
thank you for your valued custom. Without it this site would not exist
and I would get to bed at a reasonable time!
We
are now pleased to be able to offer a search box which works on the whole
site. For advice on maximising your search please click here
