Views of Greece and Turkey seem to be very popular. Fortunately I have now managed to get the Greek section at least to a respectable level.
Greece
Underwood
seems to have had a goodly interest in Greece. Under the Jarvis imprint
they issued an extensive series in 1897 on light mounts. In 1901 they seem
to have rephotographed most of the views and issued a new series on dark
mounts. Some of these negs were then used later for the Keystone series
of the 1920s. The dark mount 1901 series are mostly in mint condition with
a good curve and high gloss. I have graded them 9 instead of 10 in case
I miss a slight mark or blemish. Those graded '8' have slight marks. The
scanner has reflected light on some of these. All the DARK mount views
bear full descriptive text on the back unless otherwise mentioned, normally
the Underwood/Jarvis views on light mounts have title in six languages
only.
