Denmark
The first views are by Peter Elfelt of Copenhagen. Elfelt put a small handwritten title on the top l/h corner of the mount and these are not always clear. He was Court Photographer in the 1880s and had a habit of providing travelling people with camera equipment and then marketing the views they brought back. Most views have an impressed mark 'Eneret'.

The next group of views all bear the blindstamp of Kurt Knudsen of Bergen, who, according to Darrah, produced more than 750 excellent views in the 1860s and 1870s. He marketed some of his views in the US thru Chr. Engell, Spring Grove, MN., presumably to homesick Norwegian emigrants. They are rare and are the first I have come across here in the UK. All except one bear titles on small white labels.
