Stephen Thompson was a fine photographer whose work is contemporary, and some would say superior, to that of William England. Not much is known about him and his work is far rarer than England's. Only a small number of views were produced by him. See The Institute for Photographic Research, View List Series #9, 4th Edition, July 2001. These are all from his Views of Switzerland, Italy and the Tyrol series.
